Trebalo bi da su svi aktivni članovi IEEE već dobili formulare i informativne materijale za obnavljanje članarine.  Verovatno će uskoro stići i drugi poziv. Kao i do sada, zbog niskih prihoda članovi SCG sekcije imaju pravo na popust od 50% na osnovnu članarinu i sva IEEE izdanja. Takođe, moguće je koristiti mogućnost elektronske članarine (nešto više od 50% popusta). Studenti-članovi imaju još veće popuste, ali je trajanje te privilegije ograničeno.

Stari i novi članovi mogu, kao i ranijih godina, da se jave i da dođu u sobu 66A na ETF-u u Beogradu, gde se prikuplja članarina za one članove koji članarinu ne mogu da uplate direktno IEEE centrali. Datumi
i vreme dati su na kraju ovog dopisa. Članarina se plaća u US dolarima. Grupe članova mogu da se udruže tako da jedan donese članarinu za sve ostale, posebno tamo gde ima više članova. Članstvo se može obnoviti i preko Interneta, pri čemu je najprakticnije da plaćanje bude preko lične kreditne kartice.

Prilikom obnavljanja članarine na formularima i u bazi članstva SCG IEEE treba korigovati i dopuniti lične kontakt podatke. Veliki broj podataka u IEEE bazi nije ažuriran, što je najčešće i razlog ako ne dobijate časopise i ostale materijale. Sami članovi moraju da izmene svoje lične podatke!

Summary

In the seminar basic rules for oral presentations and writing technical papers will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on papers in IEEE transactions and IEEE conferences.  Recommendations will be given concerning the structure of the manuscript as well as on the layout and the expected content in each part of it. It also will deal with language problems of authors for whom English is not their first language. This in particular may lead to often made errors and eventually to the rejection of the manuscript by the reviewers. Finally, the participants will be interactively involved in drafting an abstract and/or an introduction.

KURT R. RICHTER BIOGRAPHY:

Kurt R. Richter, IEEE Life Fellow, graduated in Communication Engineering in 1958 and received his PhD 1961 from the Technical University Vienna (TUW), Austria.

He was Professor at TUW before he became Full Professor for Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University Graz (TUG), Austria, in 1975. From 1984-1986 he was Dean of the Dep. of the Electrical Engineering Department. Since 2000 he is Professor Emeritus at TUG. From 1971 to 1973 he spent 2 years at NASA in USA. From 2009 to 2011 he lectured “Development of Leadership Skills” at the University of Passau, Germany.

He was founding chairman of the IEEE Austria Section from 1979 – 1983 and 1991/1992 IEEE Director Region 8.

Kurt Richter is a Corresponding Member or the Austria Academy of Sciences and Honorary Member of the Croatian Academy of Engineering (HATZ)

2008 he received the IEEE EAB Meritorious Award for Continuing Education.
