Dejan Drajić je rođen 8.7.1970. godine u Beogradu, gde je završio osnovnu školu i gimnaziju. Nosilac je diplome „Vuk Karadžić“. Diplomirao je (prosečna ocena 8,90) 1995. godine na ETF u Beogradu sa diplomskim radom „ISO/MPEG standardi za kodovanje telefonskog i širokopojasnog audio signala“ a magistrirao (prosečna ocena 10) 1999. na istom Fakultetu na smeru „Telekomunikacije“ sa radom „Analiza performansi adaptivnog prijemnika u DS-CDMA sistemu sa zaštitnom kodovanjem“. Doktorirao je 2004. godine na ETF u Beogradu. Tema doktorske disertacije bila je „Poboljšanje performansi direktnog linka u WCDMA celularnim mobilnim mrežama“.Od aprila 2012. radi sa 25% radnog vremena na Elektrotehničkom Fakultetu u Beogradu kao docent, a u oktobru 2017. izabran je u zvanje vanrednog profesora. Na Master studijama drži 2 predmeta, jedan samostalno – „M2M Komunikacioni Sistemi“, a drugi „Bežične Senzorske Mrež“e – zajedno sa docentom G. Markovićem. Samostalno drži predmet na Doktorskim studijama „Modelovanje saobraćaja u M2M Komunikacionim Sistemima“.
- Član je međunarodnog udruženja IEEE gde ima status Senior Member-a, i Inženjerske Komore Srbije.
- Poseduje licencu Inženjerske Komore Srbije za odgovornog projektanta telekomunikacionih sistema i mreža.
